Ed O'Brien is attending a GIS Conference in Ct today. One item up for discussion is the Connecticut Board of Examiners for PE and PLS Declaratory Ruling regarding maps and plans in a digital format. Click Here. Prior to this the Board published the Statement Concerning GIS Click Here.

This approach is in contrast to the Massachusetts GIS guideline Click Here and Here

Maybe Ed can follow up here with a quick synopsis of his meeting

Thanks Ed! Thumbs Up

The short answer is Connecticut has a Communication Breakdown between the Surveyors and the GIS Practitioners.

I will gather a few more thoughts on this subject– I would not be surprised if Connecticut goes fast track and adopts legislation similar to the South Carolina Tier Licensure.

It is going to get interesting that is for sure.
